Christmas and Seasonal Handmade Luminaries - Countdown to Christmas Projects

These have been one of those projects I tucked inside my head the second I saw the incredibly wonderful and versatile House dies last summer.  It is one of the Pick your Projects for next week's LAST class for 2017.

We spent a week in Iceland last spring and these houses just remind me of the trip and so many of the decorations we saw there.  Of course it was the start of spring - but even in late March/early April - Iceland still ......had a Christmas feel to it, lol.  In case you never make it to Iceland (though, I do suggest you add it to your bucket list!) - this might explain WHY - the houses have an Icelandic feel.....  May I present to you - the Food Court in Keflavik:
Serg and Ris are in line for Hot Dogs...because when you GO to Iceland you must have one - and we are in the airport leaving and had not.  While in line I wondered if I had even taken a picture of all of the house cut outs.... so I got out of line to take the picture.  And I touched them.  They were metal.

The airport looks more like Ikea than an airport.  Hot dogs are not really my thing - but they were good.  They do put things like our french fried onions on them - delish.  And we had already bought Ppylsusinnep (their famous hot dog sauce) to bring back.  It is really good and will make an appearance at our Christmas parties with crescent roll cocktail dogs.  See - when you visit here - you get a little bit of culture to go with your crafting :)

It also explains WHERE and the WHY this little project has been trapped inside my head for months now.  They were so much fun to bring to life!

Here is my short and simple how to video - you will see - they are really easy to create.  I debated whether to keep the tops on or to cut them off.  I went with leaving them on - because they might be fun stacked - or if you want to set them outside in the weather.  But, you could always cut yours off for ease of getting to the lights.

I did forget to add the doilies to the shopping list below - but check back again tomorrow - as I will show the other two versions that I did with the Bethlehem and the Numbers dies.

**The SHREDDIE that I used is a new product that will be available in January from Stampin' Up! If you need an Occasions 2018 Catalog, let me know and I will be happy to send you one.  US only.  and Check back tomorrow to find out how to get some SHREDDIE early if you want to make these projects this month!!!

Dreaming of a White (or Red) Christmas with Half Full and Blends

This fun card is the card we made to accompany the mulled wine gift set at the November Countdown Class.  It is an easy card.  This is such a fun set - and works so nicely with the new Blends.  If you have not worked much with them it is a perfect one to practice your blending technique on.

This card uses the Christmas saying and the Holly from the set - making it a lighthearted Christmas card.

Remove the holly and use one of the other sayings from the set and you would be able to adapt the set to other occasions during the year.  Hostess gifts, house warmings, birthdays - so many more.

You may have seen the Mulled Wine kit that I made a few weeks ago.  I am going to do a short video on how to fill the tubes and finish off the kit.  It would make a fun gift for so many of those on your list that are a bit harder to buy for.  Paired with your favorite wine and this card.  That video will be over on my Facebook page sometime this week.  I have the things laid out on my table - just need to get the time to film!

To purchase the ingredients for the tubes and for the post on the kit, you can go back and have a look at these two posts:   Filling the Tubes and Creating the Kit

I will be placing my order for the 2018 Occasion and Sale-A-Bration Catalogs on Thursday!  If you are in the US and do not have a demonstrator - I would be happy to send you copies, just contact me to let me know that you need one!

Online Extravaganza Week Continues!

Here are some more ideas using items that are on sale this week!  Head over to my website to purchase these items up to 50% off!

The Door dies can be used all year round - in fact if you are still looking for a Christmas card - it can be used for some fun Christmas ideas.  I created the Door and the Cupcake card on the same day.  The Cupcake card was designed by my friend Tonya and I was copying it.  It was my first time playing with what was then the new embossing paste.  I was dying to 'frost' the Cupcake.

The Celebrate folder is ALSO part of the sale!!

When you go in to Office Depot is it dangerously close to being in a craft store?  Do you know someone who feels the same?  Then you will understand the love for these little paperclips.  I used the leaf on the card - but the other shapes are just above the card.  They would be great to add to your stash - or perfect for stocking stuffers or a Secret Santa gift!

And they are on Sale!

I know you have all enjoyed so many of the Coffee Creations that have been making the rounds.  Another one of Tonya's fun pieces - this little cup holds a k-cup.
The Coffee dies are on sale!

While the Eastern Medallion suite as a whole might not be your thing - take a look at just the dies with fresh eyes.  Removed from the stamp set and the color combo - the dies are such fun - paired with bright paper they become fun flower patterns.  Blues and Whites and you have some winter designs.  They remind me of spirographs.
And - ON SALE!

My love for the Santa's Sleigh dies - needs no words.  The shapes are just classic and timeless.  If you own a Big Shot and don't own these dies.... why??   Lol.

And the Numbers.  Maybe if I show them to you every day during the sale I can wear you down!

That's all for today.  I am lunching with friends, grocery shopping, cleaning and Thanksgiving prepping.  Hope your day is equally as exciting.

Remember to enter to win the Baby Bear stamp set!  And ALL orders placed on my website this week will get a gift and a thank you card!

Online Extravaganza Dies on Sale - Some of my Favorites!!

Earlier this year one of my very favorite die sets ever was part of my Stamp Set of the Month Club - and guess what! - the die is now part of the Online Extravaganza!  It's the Celebration Thinlit Dies.

Again - these are all reposts of projects I created earlier this year - but in case you missed them - or need a refresher on JUST HOW MUCH ANYONE WHO EVER STAMPS NEEDS THIS DIE SET I am at your service, lol.  Seriously it's the bomb.com  If you should get all the way to the end and think...I just don't know...let me also tell you - the tag ALSO CUTS THE TAG FROM THE STAMP SET HALF FULL.  You are welcome!

The die set - has a Cake Stand (so cute), a tiny bow (adorbs) and a stinkin STRIPED tag (how can you not?)  Just watch this:

It also will cut out your cake - nice!  And those presents!  You could be using those right now for Christmas....... The Hat - topped with the fun tiny little bow (oh, hey, those ARE ON SALE TOO!)

It cuts out several different patterns of tags that will layer.  It does have the full tag - but then also tags that layer over the top.  That makes it so easy to create a shaker tag!  This one I created using the sample in the Annual Catalog as inspiration.  Like those sequins?  You will even more when you find out....they are ON SALE!

Remember the stripy tag?  Well - you don't have to use it just for a tag - here with the help of some Big Shot adhesive I used it to decorate the Number dies (GUESS WHAT - ON SALE!) for a trendy fun gift bag.  The stamp set is on sale (Monday only)

Then this was my favorite card from the Project of the Month kit back in August - it is a fabulous wedding card.  We have used it a couple of times at weddings.  Those flowers - a die.  The FROSTING ON THE CAKE? A die.  I mean, when you get a set and it literally gives you the frosting on the cake......how can you say no?  It also gives you the cake, so there's that.  This was just cut out of some our beautiful Designer Series Paper.

Stunning.  Bridal Shower.  Wedding.  Special Anniversary.  Wedding Album.  With all the sparkle it is so pretty in person, the pictures can not do it justice.  The video is a little better:

I do hope you take a second look at this die set.  It truly is a great one!  The Project of the Month club is on a 'sabbatical' of sorts for the Holidays - but it WILL make an appearance again in January - so make sure to watch this space.  I 'think' I have 2 of the kits remaining, so if you buy the die and would be interested in purchasing the project kits, email me and I can look and get back to you after Thanksgiving.
