Holiday Catalog Preview Week Continues - Day 3 - You Mean So Much To Me With The Stamparatus

Here is my day 3 card and video tutorial - it's a fun one - and nothing Holiday anything about it!  Those of you reading who will be at camp in September, it is a Camp Card, so you will get your hands on the Stamparatus again!

I know I have said I hope to get a video a day done this week *Good News* I am running a little behind (that is bad news, right?) I have my delightful team coming over tomorrow and I still have several of the cards in my head and not on paper (including MY swap, lol) BUT I do have a great TIP that I cam going to film this afternoon. So tomorrow might not get a tutorial, but you might get a tip and a little bit of a live.... Better than nothing!

Then on Friday those of you in our Demonstrator Facebook Group should get a live of our swaps being demo'd (current plan!) But that will be live on Facebook for all to see. 

Then I will be back to film all of the remaining projects from my team event -lots of videos still coming your way -counting the days down til you can order.....getting ever so close to the magic date of September 5!

Buffalo Check (again!) Spritzed with Some Merlot and Copper for a Festive Thanksgiving Card - Pleasant Pheasants

Today's post - did you come FROM the video tutorial?  If so, good!  Because the still pictures do a much better job of capturing the shine of the Merlot Copper Reversible ribbon and the Spritzed Copper cardstock!  (still no substitute for in person - but better!)

If you are here first - then take a second to see how the card was made!  It has some throwback techniques - including the Shimmer Spritz technique itself!  You can watch in on my site here - but the video is HD on YouTube, so you will be able to see a bit clearer over there.

The pictures depend on how the light hits them - some you see more of the Buffalo Check - others you see more of the Copper Shimmer spritz.

This card is the second in my series of the Holiday 2018 Catalog preview.  You can order from it NEXT week (Sept 5th) If you do not have one yet,  let me know and I can send on out to you on Friday!

This is the 3rd card I have posted with the Buffalo Check background stamp.  The card is part of my kickoff event for my Demonstrator team stamp night this Thursday.  They are probably fortunate that I only have one of it - or they would likely be making more than 1 project with it - I seem to be a little obsessed!  This card is the most subtle effect.  It gives the background a lovely 'texture'.  Sometimes your card needs "something" in the back.  

The focal point of these cards in fine line art and you don't want it to be overwhelmed - so the subtle tone on tone of the Buffalo Check and then the spritz of the Copper Shimmer is perfect.  And OH SO Autumn!

And bonus that it matches the new Merlot ribbon!

Country Lane - Kicking Off Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek Week!

This week I host one of my favorite stamping events - 3 times a year I do a new catalog stamp day with my demonstrators - just the ones that are "mine"  There are other days that it is our whole group (and I love those too!).  But these are smaller and more intimate - and I just love being with these ladies.

There is also the added bonus that it always means that I have had NEW stuff to play with!  I also try REALLY hard to stay off Pinterest and as much other social media as I can - because I want all of the cards I design for them to make to be all my creations.

The card might look like it took a lot of hard work - but you can see how really simple it was to pull together!

This time I am also sending the paper products for 3 of the projects to those out of state and setting up a Facebook Live session at one end of the table!  Crossing my fingers (and toes, because me and technology is a love/hate thing, lol) I found out what stamp sets they had and they will be able to at least stamp along with us - and watch what happens on the table that has those projects on it.

On Facebook this week - my FB*POW  (Product of the Week) IS the Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek (saving me from having to get ready for them and come up with something else for over there, lol).  But I know that after talking with my Camp Ladies, everyone is ready for that Catalog to hit the Live status on September 5th.

Hopefully by seeing some of the projects early you will notice some things that just flipping through the pages -  you may have missed!

I have used this stamp set once already here with a sneak peek (it is the same one that was on my Cotton Card!) - but here I didn't match it up with the DSP that is part of it's Suite.  I will let you watch the video to learn how I came up with the mixing of 3 different product suites to achieve the look I was going for!

Secondly, I can't put the recipe up yet for the card since the catalog is not live.  In the video I do give the details on everything I use - so you can jot it all down so you can recreate the card later if you like.  Some of these projects MAY be Camp cards.  Camp Girls - if you see one you want to make - let me know and I will put it on the September list!

Finally - if you DO NOT have a Holiday Catalog yet - let me know!  I would be happy to send you one!  I will be going to the Post Office again on Friday.  That would give you just enough time to get it before it goes live next week!

Speaking of Live - Thursdays are the day I am trying to do my Facebook Live.  This Thursday is also my Stamp Day.  I hope to be ready enough to go live to show you the projects and some close ups of some of the products.  Watch my Facebook (Cheri's Cards) for the status of that this week!  I have about half of their projects ready - but I have so many other things on my calendar this week as well.

I get messages ALL the time asking where I get the items I use in my videos and pictures that I post online.  It can be hard to find them - so when I do (or when my friends do!) we tend to "stock up" because....well, that's what we do, lol.

Flannel Fall Card with Buffalo Check and Sitting Pretty

Here are the cards from today's Facebook Live - I have posted the video below.

The video does start midway into the Live - so it starts abruptly, but I didn't want you to sit through the beginning chitchat.  It was just showing you the cards that I have already posted here this week, so you don't need to see them again.

Here is the video - It has the step by step of the card - so easy and a fun, new style of 2 step stamping.

You saw two new products that you can get September 5th when the new catalog comes out - LOVE the Buffalo Check.  It mixes well with the Sitting Pretty stamp set to give it a masculine autumn fall feel.  I have some additional tips for mixing this same card up a the end of the video.

Here is the close up of the "washed image" I told you I would show you.  The stamp had been 'cleaned' with a baby wipe.  This was BEFORE I could use the shammy because it hadn't been available to us for purchase yet.  You know when you use the wipes, those little fibers stick all over the Photopolymer?  In effect - cleaning your stamps is actually making them dirtier.  

If you think you are saving money by using the wipes - then think again...in the long run it won't be long before you have spent $8 on the wipes and you could have just spent the $8 on the Shammy. Which will actually CLEAN your stamps.  That is your helpful tip of the day!

Sitting Pretty: Create an Easy and Elegant Autumn Card with the Embossing Mat

I am so in love with today's card!  Sometimes when I sit down I have absolutely NO idea what I am going to make. Like NOTHING in my head.  AT ALL.

That was the case the case with this.  To say I have a few projects going at the moment is an understatement.....  It was Tuesday and on my Demonstrator Team page we do a Virtual Swap.  When you are the one leading the swap - it is really hard to skip out on it, so I feel like I must participate.  The theme this week was Autumn/Halloween.  Over on Facebook - my Facebook Product of the Week (which I am already tired of typing and it is WEEK 2, lol - so it is becoming known as FB*POW - get it?!) had been switched from my original plan to this set.  In order to converge the needs - I combined 2 into one.  I knew it should work - because who does not like to sit on a bench in the fall, amiright?!

You all ask how I design - all the time - so stick with my thought process here, lol....  The set has no leaves...  But all of us have paper and Stampin' Up! LOVES to give us leaves!  Pulling out Nature's Poem - there we go!  

The leaves overpower the bench, so add vellum over the top - the paper chooses the colors for me - the rest is fiddling with bits and bobs til it all comes together!  

Easy Peasy!  The Embossing and Die Cuts from the Big shot do a lot of the magic - the video of making the card with all of the talking is less than 15 minutes - so see for yourself!

The Embossing Mat is such fun to work with.  If you have the Big Shot and don't yet have the mat - get it!

The card is great too because if you use another of the sayings (or one from another set) - it can be a Birthday, Sympathy, Thank You - it can with less ribbon (twine maybe?) even be more masculine.

As I mentioned - it is my Facebook Product of the Week - so make sure to stop by there this week. There will be more samples, some prize patrols  and Thursday around 11 am EST I will have some great things to show off on a Facebook Live.  

I trust they will be great.  As I type this I have NOT a CLUE what I am doing - but my creative mojo has been pretty good recently, so I feel ok with not knowing....tune it to see if it flops, lol.  

As always SHARE the LIVE (during or the replay) by the following MONDAY and go into a drawing for goodies!  

I know some of you don't 'do' Facebook - GOOD NEWS - you can also SHARE the YOUTUBES of the FB*POW (so this one) by adding it to Pinterest Board (click the share button on the video and Pinterest is an option!) OR hit the THUMBS UP button while watching the video and then just add a comment at the bottom of it. Those will enable you non-Facebookers to win things too!

Two more things - Hopefully be the end of the week I will have my "Staging Items" sale started - the requests are pouring in.  

I have them gathered...I am getting some stuff together to ship them in.  Then trying to figure out the cheapest and safest way to ship.  If you don't know what the heck I am talking about....nearly every day someone asks where I get all of the things I include in my photos such as the little Stamp tray above.  I have hoarded them  - I have a problem.  I am going to do a couple of quick online garage sales to get rid of them.  Watch MY FACEBOOK PAGE - CHERI'S CARDS.  Payment will be paypal only.  It is a random assortment of items - some mine, some my girlfriends.  I will just do a few at a time so I can handle the trips to the post office.
