camp project #2~

Love the bronze textile paper and the large grommets - great card for grads!

Takin a break from my fave 5

to stamp all day.....

did get quite a lot done - this time of year I really wish we had the retired list so I could plan

my summer classes before school is out.

Here is a project for camp - it's this Saturday or Monday - both morning sessions. This card was inspired by two things....a card that a friend, Debbie, gave me. Loved the pull out sentiment. Two, ok.....retired list is coming and this level three hostess set - Goody Goody Gumdrops had yet to see ink to rubber.

I did do something different with this card - there are actually two designs and at camp they can choose which one they would make - exact same card, just stamped the sundae image instead!

My favorite stamp set - #2

As they say on Dancing with the Stars....now in no particular order.....we will reveal.......
today's second in my series of current favorite stamp sets. This was an easy one - Upsy Daisy - for the exact same reasons as yesterday's choice....
The fact that one set can allow such a huge variety in techniques. However yesterday's set featured line art - today's is big bold and beautiful! All those times you need to resist, emboss, (or resist emboss!), shadow, sponge, etc and etc - this gives glam results!!
I am thinkin' that perhaps the fact the SU! has accessories {again} designed to match the set probably play into the reason I reach for it so often.
All of the samples shown here we have previously made in class - except this pink SPRING one - it is a project for May Big Shot class! Love it. The upsy daisy gives enough background that you know it's there, but the flower is the focal point.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD:
We found out today that starting May 1st - you can become a demonstrator for just $75!!! That could be the deal of the century. I have some sign up specials running thru May 15, so if you are interested - let me know!

My Top Five Favorite Stamp Sets #1

This week I will be sharing my Top Five (ala Facebook!) Favorite stamp set - I have gone back and forth on whether they should be current...haven't decided yet - I have some that I dearly loved but that are no longer available. Since I can't decide - I will go with my number 1 - which is current....
Fifth Avenue Floral is hands down as of these last few months my favorite stamp set. Three large line art stamps that lend themselves to countless techniques. Scroll down and you will see more samples made with the set.
Doesn't hurt that the current catalog has a slew of accessories that are designed to work specifically with this set, eh?
A few weeks ago we had a With One Set class with FAFlorals - I jot down card ideas prior to making the projects for any class. The list for this set was sooooooooooooo long - We were going to do 4 cards - and I had to add a 5th (the orange glitter card above) because I just couldn't stop myself.
Now, for the first time ever, I am having a Take Two - a SECOND class featuring this set. The projects will be all new (and still won't use up all my ideas) - if you already have the set you can attend for just the materials fee - don't have it yet? (shock, horrors!) then come and your stamp set will be included with your registration fee! The class is Tuesday Jun 16th - there is a morning and evening session. My emails will have complete details.

Upcoming Try It Clubs

I have some try it clubs coming up - watch for those next week. One will feature several Designer Series Papers (and at a bargain, since I can purchase them with the SU! special that starts on May 1!) and the other will have lots of In Color accessories - so you can stock up on an assortment of them before the In colors are..... out!
I told you that three classes will be offered in a series style this summer - including Camps, Big Shot and Extr*Ordinary cards. What other classes will you see?
Stencilin - using the Big Shot and the stencil patterns to your art
Fifth Avenue - Take Two!! The class featuring this set was a huge hit. Love the set. I jotted down so many ideas that it was hard to narrow it down to the 5 cards we did. Well, I decided I just can't NOT do them - so we will do the class again - this time all new cards! If you don't have the set yet, it will be included in your class fee. Those of you who attended a few weeks ago can attend this Take Two at a discounted class only price!

Get Ready for my Top Five!

If you have a Facebook - you know that the current rage is rating your top five....of literally EVERYTHING....... Those of you who do late 80's cartoons make me feel old ;^)

Well, next week I will give you a stamp set a day that is currently in my Top Five - along with those will be some specials if you purchase any of them.

Today's sample features Forest Friends from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I do love it - has a fun 40's vintage feel (although the owl on it's own can pull of the 70's mighty well!). Don't forget - there is a Stampin' Up! special that is on right now - purchase $40 of products from the mini and get a free stamp from the last page of the catalog!

Gotta go get ready for Big Shot class tonight!

Big Shot Class #3

This Thursday is the third in this first series of Big Shot classes. We will be making .....
*one of the flowers that you will see in the latest Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini catalog - so fun, I would love to make a whole bouquet of them!
*a 'sugared' butterfly - I have glued mine to a pot - they would be lovely with the flower bouquet - or on cards, scrapbooks, decor - the uses will be many!
and 2 other projects - one using the Matchbox die.
You do not have to own a Big Shot, nor to have to have been to any of the previous BS classes. The cost is $15.
I am getting ready to do some more Big Shot series classes during the summer months. These are fun classes - if you have not yet tried one - do!

Fifth Avenue Floral

Here is another card that we made at the Fifth Avenue Floral class late last month. Love that set. There are just so many things you can do with it - I could have another class with 5 more cards!

I have a feeling I will be behind on most everything this week, so if you need to contact me, be patient. Serg is still home - decided to not take his meds last night to see how he would do - answer.....not so good. At least it didn't require an ambulance trip this time.

Big Shot class is Thursday and Extra*Ordinary Cards is Monday. I am trying to get the samples done so I can get some pictures out today - and maybe even an email - but if I don't - I do need RSVPs soon. Let me say - both classes have some really fun projects and you will be disappointed should you miss them!

Extravagant....

April 27th is Extravagant Card class - all the cards we make will have a touch or two of something extravagantly extra....

This one - has the beaded butterfly - and inside is a pop-up!

Easter was extravagant too:^) We enjoyed family, fun, food, church and the weather was beautiful!

Apr 9, 2009

Easter is coming.....

and hopefully I will be ready! I was hit with a *nasty* cold last weekend and am only now just starting to feel better. Those at my Saturday class and Tuesday camp....well, they didn't see me at my best :^)

Those of you on my email list should get an email today - with some exciting new classes on the schedule! There are also some hostess appreciation things - if you have not yet hosted in 2009 - then get your calendar out, you won't want to miss this!

I know my website needs some attention - but priorities being what they are - I am meeting some of my favorite people (and fabulous stampers!) for lunch today and I have camp tomorrow {hope to see YOU here!} so it may be next week......
