Artistry Inspired: May 2018 Share What You Love, A Little More, Please!

Starting May 1 Stampin' Up! will be releasing 4 great bundles that are part of a customer sneak peak for the upcoming June 2018-2019 Annual Catalog release.  I am going to incorporate one of the bundles into my May Artistry Inspired Class!  It will make it SUPER SIMPLE for you!!

Between May 1st and May 8th just head to my website and find the Share What You Love promotion (it hasn't started yet, so I don't have the exact link to give you - but there will be a banner on the promotion page!) Purchase the above bundle - it's the middle priced bundle ($91.50 - and you see it comes with FREE envelopes and a darling FREE boxed embellishment kit!)

Then once you have your order from Stampin' Up! I will be sending you an emailed PDF and the mailed supplies that you will need to add to what you have to complete five projects in your home!
You may have already read the blog post and watched the short video that included the preview of one of the cards, if you missed it - you can view it here
Included in your Artistry Inspired kit will be paper from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series set.  There will be some of this for all 5 of your cards!  It is part of the largest bundle that will be available on the preorder - of course if you would rather purchase it, you CAN and still participate in the Artistry Inspired class.  Here is that bundle;
It includes everything that the smaller bundle does - but also includes the full pack of the Designer Series paper (you won't have to cut your brand new package to start making your cards!) and it includes an additional free stamp set and an embossing folder!

If you missed the "talking video" I did that featured an upcoming hostess set - I did speed it up here (makes it feel just a little awkward, but it is much quicker) but you get to see the box and more of the papers.

Your Artistry Inspired cards will incorporate your new stamps, your doilies, pearls, ribbon, etc - but I will have LOTS of coordinating NEW upcoming, returning and retiring catalog favorites to show you how to make the very best use of this fabulous new bundle!

You will need the following supplies to complete your projects as well (black ink pad, acrylic blocks, Wink of Stella or blender pen, stamping sponges or daubers, olive ink (marker, spot or pad) Stampin' Up brown ink - preferably Crumb Cake, Paper snips (scissors) and adhesives.).  If you do not have any of these, add them to your order when you get your bundle.  Razzleberry, Pear and Tranquil Tide are also recommended ink colors.

Simply order either of the two bundles via my website between May 1 and May 8.
Return here on the 1st for your hostess code so you can also include your monthly goodie (or you can also bump your order to $150 for your own hostess benefits!)
And then wait to get your order and my class in the mail!

Shimmery Lillypad Lake with Glimmery Brusho Sunset

What a crazy end to a crazy month!  I am taking a deep breath and saying goodbye to winter.  I know it's April - but if you live in the midwest.....
I feel as if I have not taken any kind of a long break over what seems to have been a very long winter.  It seems that it was just Christmas and a couple of days later I got the flu.  Since then it has been months of playing catch up! Have you ever had a period of time where you tread water to stay afloat?  In March while we were in Ireland for a couple of weeks I exhaled and totally enjoyed the holiday there soaking up thinking not of all there was to do - but the fun that was to do on that day's list!  That's a whole other kind of To Do!  But once we were home it has been a whirlwind again - straight to Atlanta and On Stage, new catalog, camps and new stamp events with my team.  Add to that the STACKS of winter clothes because as of this past weekend we are still having freeze warnings in the midwest and no spring weather yet.  But HANG ON.  The 80's will be here this week!

So - I picked THIS card for my next preview.  I designed it with a summer sunset feel.  I think my flu, busy never quite caught up winter - may be gone.  Let's just leave the spring that never was on this April 20 and move right on to Summer 2018!  I never bought any pansies....but we got the pool ready this weekend....my calendar is clearing up - I have NEW stamps to show off - and some old favorites to showcase at my retiring camp this May!

This is a very versatile bundle that you will be sure to love - so go ahead and move it right to the front of your shopping list when the catalog goes live in June!  I will have another card with it in June and will post the shopping list for it then.  For now - here is the video:

We will be making this card at June camp - so if you are local to me - you will want to make it.  There is no way to capture how truly beautiful the combination of the Brusho and glimmer paper are on camera.  So much prettier in person.

Speaking of the new catalog - if you do not have a demonstrator - remember by placing an order over $35 from me before May 15 - will ensure that I have one sent to you when they are released!

One last day to take advantage of the April Host Code Special - and then check back tomorrow for May specials!

There are several pieces in this set I have not used yet  - my stamping on the video on the inside of the card.....well.....lol.  Sometimes it is quite challenging to not be able to have your head right over the top of the card!  Always good to have that back up one.

So long - winter 2018......May Summer 2018 be a good one!

2018 New Stamps, Colors, Cards and What's Coming!

Oh, it's been a busy week!  And it is just Tuesday, lol.

It is one of those weeks that I consider a favorite, but it one that is also a lot of work!  It is new catalog week when my demonstrator team gets together to stamp all the new projects that I have ready for them.  I used to do a lot more...as many as 16!....but that just stressed them out.  I am "done" with these 8.  If I get everything ready then I may go back and add one or two more - if they have time to make them all they can - if not - then they can pick their favorites.

Here is a quick video to show them off in person!  Watch it here or on my YouTube channel

I still have space for a couple of more to join us!  If you want to - we can get you signed up quickly and you can come stamp with us!  I am in the Indy area and would be more than happy to send you all of the sign up details.  On the To Do list for the Holiday Catalog stamp time this summer will be adding in some FaceBook live during our time for those of you who are part of the group but are not close enough to be with us!  But if you want to join the team and are not in Indy....you do get the cards and some of the goodies a week or so after the meeting!

Later in May I am also hosting a New Catalog Shoebox Swap for my entire downline and any active Stampin' Up! demonstrator in the area that might want to attend.  If that's you - contact me for details!

On the video you may have heard me say I am happy to take requests for which of these cards to film next - The ones I have not yet filmed include the Lillypad Lake Bundle, the Tranquil Texture Bundle, Graceful Glass bundle, Pick a Pennant (which features the Stamparatus) and the Sitting Pretty Bundle.  If you have one you would like to see sooner in the rotation - go to the video that is in today's post on YouTube and leave your choice in the comment section!
Creating when the new catalog comes out each spring is always a challenge - making sure to use things that are not retiring....this year added an extra level of brain drain - as I double checked each time to ensure the colors were not part of the revamp!    I have all of the new cardstocks, but few of the new ink colors....so most cards have a new color somewhere, but sometimes art can really stretch those muscles!

None of the pictures today are fabulous.  April showers are hard at work to bring our May flowers.  But I promise when I film each of the projects that I will retake the pictures and you can see the cards in much better light and in close ups!  For now - it is literally a sneak peek!!

I know I have some reader and viewer questions that have come in the last couple of days that I have not yet answered...I will get to you!  I just need to get this event over first and then I will get those knocked out.  Promise!

Hand Delivered Meets Share What You Love Sneak Peek!

Today I have a little something different for you!  I will be short on words in my blog post - because my video is going to HAVE the words!  Most of them are sped up and set to music (I can't talk - I would sound like a munchkin - I don't have the editing software to add my voice back after speeding it up!) When I was working or waiting for a golf match to start....I didn't have time to watch longer videos - so my goal is for most of my videos to be accessible for those of you who may have just a few minutes to steal here and there (and may need to turn the volume off...you know.....if you are sitting at a desk somewhere, lol - or even out on the golf course!)

BUT for today - it's a traditional video much more like other demonstrators do - so I would LOVE to know your thoughts on it.  Do you like the longer ones?  Do you like to listen (and painfully watch me color and cut?!!) or do you like the superfast card done in 3 minutes?  I am going to see if it is possible to do both from the same footage.  Obviously I stamp slower when talking - but I am going to take this video and see if it can be sped up.  Anyway - here it is - grab your favorite drink and turn up the volume - you will need a few minutes to watch this "episode"

This is a new hostess stamp set for next year's catalog - Hand Delivered.  Do you not LOVE the accessory pieces?  Did you catch the part about the giveaway??!

This paper is what will be included as part of the supplies that will come for those of you who participate in the upcoming Artistry Inspired Class - check back next week for more information on that.  You will purchase the bundle from me through Stampin' Up! and I will provide you with what you need to make 5 beautiful cards (that is where the paper comes in - I show it off in the video if you skipped it)

I also mention how someone will be the winner of the card I created IN the video - see, I did finish her off!

Also included in the bundle for the Artistry Inspired class are not only the free supplies from ME - but also some freebies from Stampin' Up!  There is a fun little embellishment kit that comes in an adorable box.  On the top is the Statement of the Heart.  I have an original Statement of the Heart stamp as well.....from 1999!
As much as I want to keep playing with new stuff - camp is this Friday - so I am putting all my new stuff aside now and focusing on camp.  I still have (count them) SEVEN stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog that I have yet to even ink up. Pitiful I know.......I have my projects planned...but some of them are 'old' as in I created them a few weeks ago.  I am already tweaking them in my mind.  Maybe you will see a video from that.  For sure I am using the Picnic Basket.....or Bird Banter.....I can't decide!

Upcoming Artistry Inspired Class by Mail - Love What You Do - Sneak Peek!

Coming this May, Stampin' Up! will be offering 3 different preview Bundles for the upcoming June release of the 2018-2019 Catalog for customers!  I will be doing my Artistry Inspired class to go along with the middle bundle.  For now - I am just going to go light on the details and big on the pictures....so you can see just how beautiful some of these new things are!

Normally the Artistry Inspired projects are kept 'secret' just so those doing the class get to see - but because these are new and exciting - I wanted you all to be able to see 1 - so consider it a bonus project!

Isn't that 'paper' fabulous?  Here's the thing... it's almost cardstock!!
Here is a super quick video - if you want to see some of the new things (I may have used a new stamp pad!) in action

What's also nice - is you will see several items that are carry overs from the current catalog to the next and they work wonderfully well together.  You always know if you purchase something from Stampin' Up! no matter how long it hangs around....it will always coordinate with what is currently being offered.  I love that!

Two of the bundles include free items from Stampin' Up!  You can catch a sneak peek of an embellishment kit here.  It comes in a sweet little box that has our Statement on the Heart on top.  To the left is my "vintage" Statement of the Heart stamp - circa 1999.  See...no matter HOW long you have something...it is sure to still match current things, lol.

The items included in the bundle are pearlized....Pearls, as you may know, are the gift of choice when celebrating 30 years.  As that is what Stampin' Up! is celebrating this year!!

Check back here (or better yet, make sure to be on my email list - the sign up time for this Artistry Inspired class will be very short!).  I have camp this week and my team new catalog stamp night (yea!!) next - in all my 'spare' time I will be putting the registration for this class together so we can get your orders in as soon as we can in May!  This class (like the Sweet Soiree one that was offered earlier this year) will be ideal for getting together with friends - as you will have ample supplies to make multiple cards.  In fact I will be offering the consumable part of the class as 1 or in sets of 5.  So start asking your friends and family now if they might want to get together for a spring time time in mid May.  After the "spring" many of us have had...these paper flowers may be the first we see for while yet!

2018 Sneak Peek! Aussie Animal Outing mixed with Nature's Poem

When you attend a Stampin' Up! event it is usually the practice that in our welcome bag (which is always a trendy fun kind bag in itself!) there is at least one stamp set inside.  In Atlanta it was this adorable little set called "Animal Outing"

Of course the Roo with the Koala in her pouch was my favorite part of the set!  You can see how I created the card in the video here (or go to YouTube to watch directly to see it a bit better!)

Some of you may have seen my posts the week that we went to Atlanta. Our first night there we attended an event where we dressed in a 1988 theme to celebrate Stampin' Up!'s 30th Anniversary.  I did look quickly through my 80s pictures for inspiration - I should have looked at this one above - taken in 1989.  I have a nearly identical sweatshirt now from old navy - and I did wear the same Keds that night.  Australia is where I learned to stamp - and since the stamp set isn't available to purchase yet - let's talk a little stamps....and a little aussie wildlife, lol.
And my daughter in 2016

You will have seen in the video that I did fussy cut the image out - but when the catalog is released in June - there WILL be dies - so when we make this card in the summer at camp - you won't have to fussy cut!
Serg and I somewhere...not sure where but feeding the wild kangaroos would get them to stand long enough for a picture.

There will also be a suite of products - papers and some SUPER COOL ribbons that go with the stamp set.  But for this card - I don't have that yet....So I mixed it up with some other new things that I DO have.

This was taken my very first month living in Australia - on Philip Island - then you could walk along the roads and find koalas sleeping in the trees.  I have such fond memories of that trip - but I also owned a very crappy camera - so all of the pictures are like a Koala version of Where's Waldo.

The stamp set doesn't just have these sweet characters -I did pull the frog out - because I love the little limb he is sitting out.  And - just like so many of the creatures in Australia -their frogs are larger than life...so I added the Stella to give him so sparkle of his own!
Philip Island again with my daughter (she was born there - she is half and half!)

The cord that I used is part of the Gracefully Glass suite.  There is some twine that I tossed back and forth but I liked the starkness of the black - and also thought that if you wanted to give the card to a guy - it helped tone down the little sparkle added to our frog friend.

On our last trip back in 2016 we went to Philip Island - in an effort to save the Koalas they are now in a reserve.  You can get much closer to them (though it's not walking the side of the road) and my camera is on a whole new level......
Here is an up close picture of the frog.  In the video you may have noticed that I colored the frog and the limb in with Blends.  The leaves are colored with 2 returning favorite colors - Stampin' Write markers I still happen to have - Mint Macaron and Mossy Meadow!

My mom flew down to Australia when my daughter was born.  When she was just a couple of days old literally one of the first places we took her was to a golf course - because we knew it would be a place that my mom would be able to see Kangaroos in the wild.  Maybe that is where she caught the bug!  So - here is a travel tip for you - should you ever travel down under - one of the best ways to truly see the bush - especially the birds - and hear the sounds - is to go play a round (or 2 or 3!) while there.
The last trip there I think we managed to fit in 4 rounds - they played - I walked and took pictures.  Well, the last one I stayed back and had breakfast with a friend.  But it was early morning.  And early morning on a course just outside the city....you can get shots like this:
and this
it's like a wonderland of roos!

see them all!

But don't worry - there are special rules - you know your score is important!
I attached the copper leaves with a glue dot - there are silver ones included in the set as well  - both look as equally as good on the card.

You can see now why this set has such appeal to me - it makes me want to go back and look at so many of our pictures.  Actually of ALL of the unfinished Scrapbooks that I have (and there are many) 2 of our Australia trips are ones that I do have finished.  Although from the time that I lived there....not much is.  However in the early 2000's I did to an 80's scrapbook.  Now I am so grateful that I did that!  Memories get faded over time - so to have written something down is a good thing!
While I used the Blends on this card - because LOOK, lol - you could use refills or watercolor pencils to get great results as well - but the Blends do such a great job of bringing this pair to life!

Now - for 2 fun things for my Bucket List....While I am a "Melbourne Gal" - Sydney is a FABULOUS city.... Here is a shot of Luna Park I took when we were last there.  While On Stage was being held in Atlanta - Sara and the On Stage team in Australia was at Luna Park holding their On Stage there.  Someday I will attend a Stampin' Up event in Oz.  I learned to stamp there nearly 30 years ago.... so it seems fitting!
Two - if any of the concept artists are reading.....and want to do a part two for the Animal Outing set - how about showing the Wombat some love!!?

Since this set and most of the items used to make it are not available until the new catalog release in June - I will have another card in the set series released then and will have the recipe for you with that!  But for now - remember all of the GREAT stuff that is retiring soon, don't miss your chance to get what is on your current shopping list from that.  Links to the retired list are in yesterday's post and on my shopping site.
