Let's Talk Color!

So.....have you heard?!  Of course you have!  Come this June - get ready for an explosion in COLOR as Stampin' Up! takes on a whole new spectrum of fabulous!

As with anything we roll in 'new' - it does mean we have to make some room, so we need to take these next few week's to say Goodbye to 13 of our core colors and the 2017/2018 In Colors.  Because Ya'all know that when things retire (meaning gone forever!) they tend to sell out quickly - I want to take a minute to make sure you don't miss out on any refills, cardstock or embellishments that you might need in any of those colors that are leaving us.

Those of you who attend my events or follow along on my YouTube channel may just say "What?" when you see some of these retiring Core Colors....to be honest they were not my most used.  But you may have loved them - so if you did - now is the time to stock up - ESPECIALLY on the reinkers!  A reinker will make the stamp pad you have last for years - without it, once the pad you have dries up, you will no longer be able to use it.

Let's take a peek inside my Paper Cupboard.  You will be able to tell by the sheer stacks of the colors leaving that I neglected them.  I will be featuring them with some retiring stamp sets later this month so stay tuned!

Let's start with the Subtles.  Leaving that current family are Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky and Wisteria Wonder.

Moving on to the Regals (which were often confused for the Brights) - this family also has five colors leaving - Always Artichoke, Island Indigo, Elegant Eggplant, Rose Red and Perfect Plum.

The actual Brights - just two core colors will be gone - Tempting Turquoise and Tangerine Tango.

And from the current Neutrals family ...which I didn't take a photo of - I use so many of the Neutrals ALL the time - it's always looking empty - except for this one slot - you guessed it
Chocolate Chip.

As you look over what you might want to supplement your current color stock with so you don't face a situation in the future where you are unable to use the product that you currently have - check your refill and to make sure you have some cardstock.  Remember our colors will still coordinate in the future with the remaining colors (they will still work with the family they came from!) and even with the new colors being introduced and returning!  If it was me (and I am my best customer!) I would make sure I have refills and then get ready to mix and match with what is coming - are you ready to see THAT?!

While the stamp pad case has changed - you can still use the ink pads you have.  I plan to use the colors that are staying and just add the new colors in the new pads at first.  Over time I may add the new designed pad - but there will be lots of truly new stamps, dies, papers, etc to add to my wishlist before I buy inks that are the same but for the case.  So if you already have a Real Red pad - you HAVE a Real Red pad!  The new colors will be available in the upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalog - so I am not going to go into very much detail.  I just don't want you to be sad and feel like colors are disappearing.  When you have been a demonstrator like I have for coming close to 25 years - it is incredibly refreshing to have a new palette to play with!

Here we go!

The "basic" colors of Black, White and Vanilla are now out of this Neutral Collection to make way for three more COLORS!  If you watch many home design shows you notice that color is often used as a neutral 'base' - well here we will too!  Welcome back Mossy Meadow along with Night of Navy and new colors Merry Merlot and Grey Granite!

This Regal Collection is one that won't as easily be confused for the Brights!  It is much more jewel toned.  Welcome back a returning favorite Blackberry Bliss and a new color Shaded Spruce.  You will see some colors from other families were swapped into this one to give it a more complete regal feel.

The Bright Collection has really popped now with some additional cheery colors!  After the wintery spring we have I know we will all want to get our hands on them.  Poppy Parade and Coastal Cabana have been brought back.  Flirty Flamingo has the shortest retirement ever from the current In Colors to this collection!  And some FABULOUS new additions of Granny Apple Green,  Mango Medley and Gorgeous Grape give the Brights the biggest makeover of them all.

The Subtles Collection welcomes back Mint Macaroon. Then adds some great new colors of Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, Highland Heather,  and Balmy Blue.

Here is a sneak peek at the 2018-2019 In Colors as well!

The goal of the Color Revamp was to give the Stampin' Up! colors a trendy feel for the entire color spectrum - which I think they accomplished wonderfully well.  If you do many wedding cards where you want to 'match' the color of your card to the color of the wedding - then you can always see where the current color trends are.  Another place to tell is as you walk through the mall and 'spot' our colors on the current fashions - this happens so often with the In Colors.  When they update the Core Colors, these need to be around a good decade or so.  The last time they did a revamp my daughter was starting high school - now she TEACHES high schoolers.  It takes some hard work and forecasting to make sure the colors in the core families will be there for the long haul!

Just look how beautiful they are!
In the next day or two I will do a post showing you all the "like" colors together (all the greens, etc) along with how they match up with what's leaving.  But for now - I have a STACK of brand new stamps that need some attention!
