Class By Mail!

Cellos and Bargains!

Yesterday I had a quick shopping spree to one of my favorite places. For those of you who have been in my home know that I love to decorate for every season.

The place I loved to pick up quirky, eclectic and fun little items was Country Friends in Indianapolis.

A few months ago, they closed their storefront and moved the remaining merchandise to their warehouse. They are now in the process of closing the warehouse as well. Everything is at least 50% off - all the Christmas stuff is 75% off.

I got all this stuff - 2 big bags full - for $60. Serg was not impressed with my mushrooms - I love them:) And, I think they are perfect for this season that exists between Easter and Summer. I also got some fun summer (red, white and blue!) decorations come out.

I got a lot of vintage tinsel, mica glitter and even a bug made out of a saltshaker (now who doesn't need one of those!?)

There were some fun things that I can incorporate into stamping projects - like these spiral clips..... possiblities abound!

I picked up these wire, beaded ornaments that I can see hanging in the current garland I am working on.

We ended the day with an orchestra concert. In the words of Ris - 'cellos rock'!

American Idol

Do you watch American Idol? We do, and love it:)

This year Karisa is a HUGE Michael John's fan - I think I am leaning toward Jason Castro. Karisa waivers - Michael John's is an Aussie - and has lived in the US since he was a child. That scores points with her. BUT, Jason Castro - she thinks she may be related to him....Castro is Serg's mom's maiden name. See any family resemblance?

Tile Coasters

I so don't like when Easter is cold - and when it was as early as it was this year (we had snowflakes for heaven's sake!) that is bound to happen. I love the outside shots of the kids - so when resorting to inside pictures from Sunday, I did mess a bit with them in Elements and came up with some fun looks. Karisa hates the neon application! I thought it was kinda fun, must be the 80's girl in me!
The tile is for Saturdays class.

March 29 Bonus Class

I added a class for this coming Saturday - we will be using all hostess stamps to coordinate with this month's hostess special. Here is one card we will be doing - I was inspired from another blog and jotted down the rough sketch on my scrap paper, but now I can't find where that was! I hope that you are able to use things you see here to inpire you to create fun things too.

Now for something completely unstamping - well, if you have been to my house stamping, you have been wildly greeted by our little fluffball. Our puppy has REALLY long ears, they are so long now that they drag in her food (yuk). Karisa adores the long ears and begs me not to cut them. Well, while watching American Idol we saw a puppy that looks like it IS our puppy, sans the ears :) I do think this Old Navy pup needs a bath.....

Easter Eggs in over 50 colors!

Here are some Easter Eggs dyed in Stampin' Up! Colors. Simply add 1 1/2T vinegar, Classic Ink Refills (they are non-toxic) and some water!

The colors are vibrant and bright:) I would like to try ALL of them, but that would take a lot of eggs and a lot of cups! Next year I think I will blow out the eggs first and then do them in some natural subdued colors and decorate a twig tree - can't you just envision the possibilities?

The colors I used were Basic Brown, Old Olive and Apricot Appeal.

Club Tutorial bonus!

All of the members of my stamp club will be getting a bonus email tutorial tomorrow morning. What happens when you add a plastic easter egg (this one was bright yellow) to some fabulous Stampin' Up products? A shabby vintage egg - great to celebrate Easter AND spring!

Spring is really and truly coming - I just took this picture of the crocuses out by the front door. I wish it was a few degrees warmer so I could open the windows.
