Always and Forever: Wedding Season!

We had a very special wedding in our "family" this weekend.  Earlier this year we made the invitations and then when I got a copy of the new catalog and saw the Always and Forever stamp set - I knew I would have to go with a different set when it came time to make the wedding card and the Thank You's.  The set is very on trend with the wood themed rustic weddings right now.  The couple had hand made wood burned magnets for the guests.

I also wanted to get a head start for them on a wedding album - so there I was able to mix the invitation set and die cuts with the card one (and a few favorite retired wedding sets I still own).

My favorite stamping tool......

Our online workshop is quickly coming to a close.  Most of the demonstrations I kept easy and very few supplies - those of you just starting to get enough products to make projects can easily add a few pieces here and there allowing you more creativity as time goes on.

For those of you who may already have supplies - or just want to have it all - NOW - the last few projects have featured the Big Shot.

It is pretty rare that I ever make a card without utilizing the Big Shot in some way.

The Big Shot does two (incredibly cool) things:

it dry embosses paper.  Adding some fun dimension (wood grain, dots, patterns, snowflakes, etc) takes a card from neat to WOW with just a roll through the Big Shot.

it cuts paper.  Not just in lines, but in patterns (often of a stamped image) and intricate patterns.  It can help you create boxes, ornaments, party items - again with just a roll through the machine.

It is hand operated.  Once you have a Big Shot (you will wonder how you lived without it!) - the machine itself will come with the necessary platform and cutting plates.  Then you can just add to your collection of dies and folders.

Trust me, you will love it!

Stampin' Up product and Ideas from the Home Office

This is a great little bundle.  The images are great fun.  If you purchase just the stamp set you can work the tags by cutting them out.  If you get the bundle, you will need a Big Shot to run the dies thru.  I have this set on my wish list and can't wait til I have it to play with!

This next video showcases some of the FABULOUS Specialty Designer Series papers.  I featured the foil paper on the balloon card and a fun Friend card earlier this week.  It is fast replacing the Gold Acetate as my go to paper.

Good Friend - Online Workshop Card 5!

Our online workshop continues today with another easy card.  I hope you have enjoyed the cards made with just a few supplies and nothing really fancy.  Today's stamp set is one that comes in a Big Shot bundle.  For this first card- I am only using the Stamps.

I also went back to the Foil Frenzy Designer paper - because, well, it is just so STINKIN PRETTY!  The pictures don't do it justice.  This video you get to see me fiddle around with the ribbon (sometimes my bows are perfect on the first try....other times, not so much... and mess with the punch).  The punch is easier than I make it look.  You simply line it up - however it does work better if you are looking straight down on it.  Pretty sure ya'll don't want to see the top of my fresh from swimming hair!

Those of you who are participating in the online workshop this week - you will be seeing this Stamp Set make two more appearances (samples above).  BUT before we get to those I want to introduce you to the BIG SHOT!

Balloon Celebration Online Workshop - Project 4

Today is the last project I will show featuring the stamp set Balloon Celebration.  But - you will notice that it is completely different!

One of the main advantages of photopolymer stamps is that they are transparent - so when you are stamping the placement is so easy!  I used two of the balloon string stamps on this card.  One of them I only inked 2/3 of the way and used it for a dandelion stem.  The second string cleverly incorporates the saying into it.  I used that as a fancy script saying along the bottom.

The stamp set also includes two little 'whisps' - just stamp them in the arrangement of the blowing dandelion and you are done!  I went with a country farmhouse look.  I pulled out our lace ribbon and the super fun wood look Designer Series Paper.

Stay tuned for some new stamps being featured in the next workshop demonstration posts!

Balloon Celebration Project 3 - Fabulous Foil Papers!

This next card uses the same stamp set - but in a completely different way!  Stampin' Up! has a great line of colors that you can get in ink and papers - but taking it up a whole other notch is our Designer Series Paper.  These are beautiful papers in all kinds of colors, designs and patterns.  They switch them out every year and introduce even more new ones twice a year when our Holiday and Occasion mini catalogs come out.  It is an addiction!

This demonstration card features some fabulous new Designer Series paper as the focal point.  Oh - how pretty it is!  I also wanted to use white ink for the clouds, so the card base is a color.  And - all those Stampin' Up! colors - the embellishments we offer - yes, those will all match as well!  Check out the adorable little felt bows addded to the balloon bouquet.

Because our first two cards in this series were Birthday - I decided to use the congratulation sentiment that comes in the set.

To see how easy it is to make this super cute card - here is a quick video
