Farmhouse Style Eucalyptus Card with Lots of Lavender

Goodbye February!  We have had some lovely glimpses of spring here in the midwest.  Although...I must say it makes me a little nervous seeing the winter blast spreading through Europe at the moment.  Crazy those shots of Italy in the snow!  We leave for Ireland soon and I want the snow very far away by then.  I made the mistake of looking at the app on my phone for Dublin's weather this morning.  Far too many snowflakes for my liking!

Today's card is inspired by spring, country vintage, some of the shopping we have been doing, trying to reel in my urge to renovate something....anything.....

Remember the video quality is better if you read the post here first and then go to YouTube to watch it straight on their platform!

Tobacco Baskets - all the rage.  Search the hashtag on Instagram.  Or go have a look on Pinterest.
So many ideas!  I have been moving some pictures around and making some spaces so I can fit one in somewhere.  Til then I shaped one out of the Sale-A-Bration basket embossing folder!

I wanted to fill it with some Eucalyptus.  We don't have a stamp that works right now - so I simply flipped the Sale-A-Bration Lavender upside down, colored it with the Blends - and "She'll Be Right"  I had what typically sells for Eucalyptus everywhere around here and even longer leaves that had the bigger gum nuts that I could go out the back and just whack off to bring inside when we lived in Australia.
Here is a Gumnut Baby bank I got for my daughter before she was born - and one of the gum nuts I still have from our yard.

Time is running out to get the Sale-A-Bration items!  This Lavender is so pretty.  It is actually a two step stamp - that I have yet to use that way.  I haven't even INKED the two step part.
With the changeover from February to March I have two UGGG things on my to do list this week.

Taxes.
&
Doing something with the explosion of Valentine Red decor that is gathered to be packed and the empty shelves that need dusting....
and the heaping piles of new spring, Easter, Rae Dunn, new shelves and all my old Spring/Easter that is all strewn about.
It's that giant mess before the calm.  I need a decorating fairy to visit during the night.  Or I would take a tax one as well!

To make your last day of February a little better I am doing one last drawing....
All orders placed on my website that are over $100 in product
will go into a drawing for the Basket Bundle
US orders only
must be in midnight EST

Hoop Wreath With Heartfelt Blooms - Limited Time Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set

For the first time in literal days - I was at home with time and the sun was out all day -so I was able to get some video taken! In actual fact there had only been really one day that I can remember when the sun had even been out recently.  That day I was out with my girlfriends.  We had started at our weekly business meeting - web stuff, stamping...but with the sun shining we ditched that for shopping.

When we meet tomorrow we will be making wreaths for spring.  Taking a break from our stamping to get our spaces ready for Spring!

Here is the video of this card - FYI - for those of you who don't know - the videos are a ZILLION (well, maybe not a zillion, lol) - but the quality of them is so much better if you watch them directly ON YouTube.  This one in particular I noticed a big difference.  Obviously they want you to watch them on their platform, so they give you a reason to go there.  If you like - you can take a second to go to YouTube and search my channel (Cheri's Cards) and watch it there.  All of the videos are stored there!

They joined me and my sister at a fun vintage marketplace (as well as some Rae Dunn hunting) Friday night.  I found it has seeped into my stamping....so a few of my upcoming cards will have the chippy wood, mossy, wreath, vanilla and colors of Spring feel to them!

The Hoop wreaths are so trendy right now - both in wood and metal.  I think the Heartfelt Blooms may be a tad too big for my "hoop" - I was tempted to leave the largest flower off for scale, but it is just so lovely that I couldn't.  To be honest, I had colored the image a couple of weeks ago and it had been lying on the table.  I had been at a loss as what to do with it.

A tip for when you color in images like these - flip your stamp over and use the sticker for a guide. It is sometimes easier to see "where you are going"  Also to avoid the pencil line look - don't color on a hard surface.  I laid my shimmer cardstock on the stack of crumb cake to soften the underneath.  Press lightly - color all over first and then go back with a second coloring over the shaded images where the stamp is!

If you like the farmhouse, rustic, country or even do a lot of masculine cards then the Pinewood Planks embossing folder is a Must Have.

The actual card I colored and had had lying on my table had been shades of pinks and greens.  I was going to mount in on pink and green cardstocks (I think!).  But once I did the card and was setting up for the video I decided I wanted a more vibrant wreath......you know the closer spring gets, we will all be ready for summer!

If you are on my email list - you will be getting today's prize announcement shortly for today's Go For Gold drawing.  Tomorrow is the last day....and I am going to end it with more than one prize - and it will be a choose your prize!  The wonderful watercolor pencils will be one of them!  If you don't have them - it could be a possible way to get them FREE!

New Artistry Inspired Class - Lovely Wishes

It's time for my next Artistry Inspired Class!

Here is how they work:

The "class" itself is free.  This time the class will be BOTH a PDF and a private Facebook group that has a video of each of the three cards to go along with the video.

The Stamp Set I will feature this time is Lovely Wishes - and because Sale-A-Bration is still ongoing - your class include a FREE stamp stamp as well!  Lots of Lavender is perfect it is used as the feature on one card and provides the sentiments on all 3!
Best of All?  You will work with Brusho AND Shimmer Paste!  All 3 cards will use the Brusho, each featuring a different technique and one card will use the shimmer paste.

There is a VERY limited sign up for this class. I do not order any supplies until you place the order for your class - then it has to get to me.  All of the actual card pieces are the free part of your class (yea for you!!) - so I need time to get those cut, run through the Big Shot, assembled and mailed off to all of you before we leave the country in mid March.

All orders for this class must be placed no later than midnight EST March 2nd.

Included in your order will be:
Lovely Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set
Lots of Lavender Photopolymer Stamp Set
Shimmer Paste
Brusho set (all colors are in the set)
Wink of Stella
1 Aquapainter

To place your order for these products go here - it will take you to Paypal where it places one order for all of the above.  Should you already own any of the items and need to substitute, that is fine, simply email me within 24 hours and tell me WHICH item you are substituting and any item that is the same price or less can be switched out.

The order comes to me - I will then add all of the cut cardstock, ribbon, embossed pieces, ribbons and embellishments and the PDF and send it to you!  With this class I have not added an additional free item - but the SHIPPING to you will be free.

This keeps the price where it needs to be - SO - if you place your order for this class before the deadline on February 27th - you will go into that daily drawing and my *$100 March 1st Go For Gold drawing!!

To complete your projects:  you will need to already own the Stampin' Up! archival Black pad, the Foam stamping pad, the acrylic blocks to use the photopolymer, adhesive and either a nearly empty Wink of Stella or a small artist style paintbrush.

Two other notes:  to read on my Go For Gold promotion - Click HERE
and these cards will eventually be featured on my Youtube channel.  However there - they will be the Short and Simple style!  On the private Facebook class page, they will be a slower version.

Artistry Inspired - Sweet Soiree - Creating a Silver Cake Stand - 2 ways!

Here are a couple of more shots from one of the cards from my Artistry Inspired Class for the Sweet Soiree Class.  Love working with the embossing paste and this is a different way to use it than you might normally think of!

When I do the free classes  - you purchase the products - I give you a free class that you complete at home - it can mean that you don't have unlimited supplies to work with like you might if you were taking the home at my home.
The colors of cardstock that are purchased in the class didn't really work in creating a cake stand - which is created with this super lovely die.
However - the silver embossing paste is the PERFECT color to create the stand!
I did it two different ways - one which  I liked better when the card was done and assembled.  When you take the class I will show you the difference and you can try both at your home and see what you think!

Either way - it gives a very realistic metal appearance to your cake stand!

It really is lovely and I know the class participants are going to love this special effect on their cards!  There is still time (not much!) to join in on this class.

All online orders placed on my website that include the host code 3PTEB4HY  when prompted will receive a pack of mini dimensionals as a thank you gift!  If your order is over $75 - in addition to the mini dimensionals you will receive a Fast Fuse adhesive!  This offer is good through February 28th.

Artistry Inspired - Sweet Soiree - Working with Silver Embossing Paste

Those of you participating in the Sweet Soiree Artistry Inspired home class will LOVE working with the Embossing Paste when you get to class 3!

While I was creating the samples I took a few pictures so you could see just how simple the paste is - but even while it is simple - it gives a great dramatic element to your cards, tags and packaging.

You can see my jar of paste - it isn't runny.   It is the dead of winter here and has been since I have used this paste.  I don't know if once we go from our dry and heated air to our humid Indiana summer if it will change the consistency or dry time...but for now - it is nice and thick and dries within a fairly short time.

The jar shown here was used in one of my downline meetings (about 18 ladies) and in my camps and with my own creations (maybe another 10) - so did about 28 of the panels seen here and still had that much left in the jar.

If you are interested in giving the paste a try as part of the class - you will get access to the Facebook group for some assistance - you can find more information on the Artistry Inspired Class by clicking HERE

You can see a finished project made with this same background HERE

And if you are interested in a project made with the white shimmer paste - that can be found HERE
