Trick or Tweety Batman Elephant - Brusho and Shimmer Paint for a Spooky Night Background!

I am finally getting to the end of sharing the projects from my team stamp night!  Just 2 more projects to film after this one - for those of  you who  are coming to camp, this is another project we will be making next week!

This little guy was a fun one. The stamp set is adorable and I have already shared a card earlier in August with the Mummy Cat (you can find it on my YouTube channel!) from the same set
Click here for the YouTube Video of this Card!

Click the link above to see the tutorial for this card.  I will tell you it is not a straight tutorial - it is the end of the Facebook Live for the Holiday Catalog Kickoff - so it is a bit more chatty that a straight tutorial.

Because the backgrounds are created with Brusho each and everyone will be different - depending on the way the Brusho comes out, the colors of the crystals that you get and the way the shimmer hits them when you spritz  - all kind of fun to see how the magic will happen!

The dies are used are from the Annual Catalog (last year's Holiday Catalog!) - so don't feel like you always have to have everything (but I do understand that feeling!).  I did not get the bat punch because I knew I had these dies and thought they could work.  They are so cute in the new black foil paper!

Today I need to get off to film for our Creating and Sharing the Life You Love page (if you are a  Demonstrator, I hope you are part of it!) Next week's to do list includes adding the recipes for all of the Holiday Cards I have created so far now that the catalog is LIVE!

Camp is Next Week! If you are in the Indy Area - You are Welcome to Join!

Those of you who are in the Indy area - don't forget camp is next week!
I have some super fun projects for you!  The ones above use a Brusho technique I came up with earlier this year ....out of laziness!  It is a two card from one - you will love it!  The results look like you spend a lot of time crafting the cards - but they go pretty quick.  I am going to put the videos down at the bottom of this post.  If you are coming - you can watch before if you like - if you can't make it, then take a second to see how it's done!
This card above was made by my friend Christy and I will be adapting a version for camp.  I have not yet used my Tropcial bundle yet - and I LOVED her take on it.  I will be sure to include some of the elements that she has in hers!

This card is another that is a prototype - although we may end up doing it just like it is!  We will use the laser cut paper and a light touch of watercolor with our new pencils!

We will be doing this quick Puzzle card with the Love You to Pieces Bundle.  It uses the new embossing mat - I will show you at camp what happens if you DON'T use the mat, lol.

Our final project will feature the Limited Edition  Blended Seasons Bundle.....and I am not quite sure yet what we will be doing with it....stay tuned!

As always - all you need to bring is adhesive.  Camp is $20 for the 6 projects - or FREE if you order $65 while at camp.  This month if you order $65 you also get a FREE stamp pad (your choice of color!)  Order $100 and get TWO stamp pads!

Here are the Brusho Videos!  Enjoy  - would LOVE to see you at camp!

Reverse Masking with Brusho and Springtime Impression Thinlits

A few weeks ago I posted the card and video above - when I made the card - I used brusho to color the die cut flowers - that resulted in a beautiful 'scrap' (well - an intended scrap - I used Shimmery White Cardstock!)  I promised you the second card in the series.....but there have been so many new things sitting on my table that it has taken me a bit to get around to posting the video - so HERE is the second card in the series!

Before the Color Refresh I tended to view the Brusho selection as a more jewel/earth tone selection - but adding the background colors of Mango and Poppy REALLY gives a new life to them and makes them so much brighter!

I get asked a LOT about my Big Shot.  Everyone's Big Shot is a little different.  In fact - I own 2.  One of them if my favorite.  All Big Shots tend to have a 'sweet spot' and on my favorite - the sweet spot just seems to cover a larger area.  If you are still using the old platform with the swinging (hinged) adaptor, I highly recommend you replace it with the newer one.  You can see from my video that even with a more intricate die, I don't spend time poking it out.  Your dies "should" pop out (sometimes they take a bit of poking, but they shouldn't take a lot of time).  The new platforms have a raised center.  Place your more intricate dies in the center.  Run the die twice thru cutting side down, flip it and run it again twice again cutting side up.  BEFORE you pull it out give it a glance, you should be able to tell that it has cut - otherwise send it back once again.  If your cutting plates and REALLY cut up, they may not be offering enough resistance - I know you still have 'fun' stuff on your list - but - really - just buy some new plates!  NOTHING ruins a stamping session faster than 30 minutes trying to poke your die cut out!

If you missed the FIRST card in the series to see how I created the background for this card - HERE is the video for that:

We made these cards in May when I had my demonstrator team over for my new catalog stamp time!  Before every new catalog comes out I have my girls over and I have 81-12 projects for them featuring all new product.  They just show up (maybe with some food and some swaps) and stamp!  If you are in the Indianapolis area and that sounds like something that you would like to do......THEN do I have a deal for you!!  Starting today - if you purchase a demonstrator starter kit - you get an ENTIRE FAMILY of ink pads absolutely FREE!  That is nearly a $70 savings!!
If you are not local - that's fine too!  As part of my meetings we do a Facebook Live so you don't miss out.  I mail out an assortment of the finished projects to those who couldn't make it (so some of my girls got these cards!)  I even let you know WHAT stamps we might be using on the Facebook Live demo's if you want to have those on hand to stamp along with us from wherever you are!!  All year round our group if active online.  You can read more about the special HERE

If you do have any questions - contact me!  In fact - BEFORE you would sign up - contact me, we have a preorder special for August - and if you would like - you could include that as part of your kit!

Some other fun July specials include the popular Buy 3 Get 1 free DSP  - which I have a limited club and project club that will end this week tied to that.  ALL of the BLENDS are now available to be ordered!!  So if you find you need all of the new colors (yes, please!) - you can get those anytime you like!  I hope to have an email out as early as Monday with details on all of this, so make sure you on my email list!

Along with the Designer Series Paper Special - I have set a goal for myself to post ONE card per day that features the papers that are part of the sale on my Instagram.  If you want ideas - then follow me there (Or on Facebook, the 2 accounts are tied together, so once it posts to Instagram it should show up not long after on Instagram!)  In fact - if you like, comment, and follow along enough during the month that I NOTICE you - at month's end I may message you for your address - and send you a card that was featured!!

Finally - in case you feel like perhaps you are having deja vu' and you have seen ME DO these cards before..... Well, sometimes, I do copy myself!  Back in the winter when Brusho was still fairly new to me - the card above WAS literally a piece of scrap from the card below.  You can see the card on the right - the flowers are much more smudged around.  I was creating the card below and there was not any true scrap paper.  But as many demonstrators do - I have SO MUCH white cardstock, that it was sitting there and laziness won out.  When I was finished with the card I intended - I realized the background I created was too pretty to throw out.  Thus my 'reverse brusho'  technique was born.  Don't let anyone tell you that laziness will never get you anything, lol.  Those videos are below.

On both of these cards I used Petals and More - which is still available in the catalog!

This July everyone who places any order on my website and uses the Hostess Code
HTKK2666
will receive a FREE container or Basic Brads! (p 198 in the catalog)

Springtime Impressions Cheery Masked Brusho Thinking of You Card

Here is another card that I had for the girls at our recent Shoebox Swap.  You may recognize it as something I did with a similar card in March.   This time it uses the same Brusho and a new die - but when paired with the returning favorite color Poppy Parade - it gives it a whole new Bright and Cheery Summer feeling!!

The dies are called Springtime Impression and are part of a Bundle that is going to be super popular - the stamps are called Abstract Impression.  The dies don't cut ANYTHING out in the stamp set though - they are just beautiful cut outs on their own.

Here is the video.....if you watched the same technique in March - it will all come back to you!

I should completely call this the Lazy Brusho Technique - because it's a Two Card in One technique and it came to be by the fact that the first time I did it in the winter I was cold and there was no scrap paper lying near me.  If you are like me then often white (shimmer, glossy, vanilla - are they not all the same, lol) often are in such abundance on your workspace that they can stand in for scrap.  When I watercolored my original onto the 'scrap' I quickly realized that I now had a second (just a beautiful!) piece to work with!

This die is actually easier than the Petal Palatte than I used before - the one large piece is so much nicer to hold on to add the Brusho too.

If you look closely you can see that I switched up the color choices from one card to the second.  Once this card goes live and I can add the shopping list in early June I am going to add the original designs as well - most of the items I used on those cards will carry over

Then - make sure to come back in just a couple days (probably after the holiday!) so you can see the rest of the dies in put to use on the 'scrap' piece I have left from this first card!!

The Thinking of You sentiment is from the upcoming stamp set Rooted in Nature.  On the second card in this set I will use stamps from Abstract Impressions - which is part of the bundle that goes with the dies.

Are you counting the days til you can order?  Do you still need a catalog?  I have more coupon books and catalogs ready to mail out!  I will be going to the post office on Friday afternoon - so any order placed online (over $35) I will get one in the mail to you!!!  You can be redeeming coupons on June 1!!!!

Place an order and use this code A2N7NKY2 at check out

All orders over $35 will get fun grab bags of things full of items that appeared in the current Annual, Occasions and this year's Holiday catalogs!

Sitting Pretty Missing You Card with Macrame' Succulent and End of Camp Blast Sale

Today's post will be short - but the card is super fun! So take a few minutes to watch the video here (or go over to YouTube so you can see it a little bit better!)

This is a project featuring an upcoming bundle "Sitting Pretty"
As with many of the new bundles - they do so much more than JUST cut out the images now.  This was the first card I used the embossing mat on and I didn't really know what I was doing..... there will be better uses of it to come.

This weekend I had 2 sessions of camp and have had 1 downline Shoebox Swap today...one more tomorrow.  Which is why this post will be short on words..... But I will have several new fun and super cute projects coming your way in the next few days.  So stay tuned!

This is a project from the event I had for my downline just after returning from On Stage in Atlanta.  I don't think we will be making it at any events again - but it is a fun one for you all to see - and if you are at my events you can see the cool macrame' effect in person.  I was really pleased with how it turned out and how easy it was to do.

We will use the bundle in July, but I will so a card that is a little simpler - and will maybe tie in the Bulldog (throwback to my Brownsburg alma mater - and any of you Butler fans!!)
To see how I did the macrame' just watch the video - much easier to see in person than it is to try to explain.....  It is from one of the wider burlap ribbons that is currently in the catalog...and good news....it will still be available in the June new catalog!

Here is a close up of the plant.

And here is the stone die run through with the Embossing Mat.  Now - to go clean up from this afternoon's event and get ready for my morning girls.  Can I tell you just how much I love my job!?  What a joy to welcome ladies that you love to be with in to your home, to create with, laugh with and just enjoy to spend time with.

And don't forget....a few hours left on the Last Blast Sale from my camp this week!  Save Big.  Get a FREE card - featured in one of my recent videos....free product (your choice!) and discounts from Stampin' Up! on several retiring products!
