Amazing You Floral Celebration Card with Glimmer Paper

This is an easy to make Celebration card from Camp.  I pulled out the fun Daisy Designer Paper that I have had hidden away since Autumn.  All that paper was so fun to get when the 'new' catalog came out - then WHAM - the Holiday catalog was upon us and the wonders that were Autumn and Christmas.....now we are back to wanting those spring colors.

They go so nicely with this fun Sale-A-Bration stamp set.  The stamp set will only be available til the end of March.  The dies are going to be in the Annual Catalog that will be released this summer.  They do work together - so if you plan/already have the dies - make sure to get the stamp set so you can coordinate when you want words/dies to be able to mix and match!

here in the video you can see that we did stamp the inside of the card at camp

You also may wonder why we didn't do the amazing -color-the-glimmer-paper-with-brusho-trick like I showed you last week?  Well, I am saving the Brusho for April and May for my campers!  There was so much FUN to be had with just all of the SAB items - no need to overwhelm.  We will pull it back a bit and focus on new techniques in April - retired stuff in May and then go all out again in June when new catalog comes out.  If you live in the Indy area, by all means JOIN US!

I am writing this before we leave on our trip, but it (hopefully) is posting at our halfway point.  Which means there are just a few days left for SAB2018.

Heartfelt Blooms with 3x the Sale-A-Bration!

This card is another from March camp.  It is such a fun technique.  I have tried to find the demonstrator's site who came up with it - she called it Black Ice.  I was sure that I saved it - but now I don't know if it is on my phone, laptop, Facebook...or just where I marked it - and the technique seems to be everywhere.....I am flying through these posts before our trip.  When I get home I will look again to see if I can find her name.  I know that she mentioned she and her mom came up with it together.

I also did a card using the Champagne paper and colored it with Brusho - but time ran out to film and photograph it.  By the time I am back Sale-A-bration will be over, so I will try to think of another stamp that will show off that look as wonderfully as Heartfelt Blooms does!

Watch the video here - or head to my YouTube Channel (Cheri's Cards) for a better viewing experience

This card also features the SAB ribbon AND the SAB Springtime Foil paper.  The card is simply stunning in person.  Don't miss your opportunity to own this set so you can replicate this card at home!

In FACT - anyone who places any order OVER $50 between 1pm EST on March 23, 2018 and 9am EST March 24 will go into a drawing for an extra Heartfelt Bloom set that I have!  You must place the order via my website and use the code KEN7WNVM when prompted to be entered in the drawing.  I will let the winner know they have one when I return from my trip.

Petals & More Series Card 3: Brusho Meets Glimmer Paper!

When I started on Thursday morning my goal had been to do 3 or 4 cards using the new list of surprise products that Stampin' Up! had given us that were now eligible to be FREE as part of Sale-A-Bration.  If you have followed along with this 'series' - you know that didn't quite happen.  As it is - I owned everything but the designer paper (sorry, the poodle in that paper...just doesn't do it for me).  I had already used the Glimmer Paper in 4 of my camp cards, knew the dies would be an easy project - wanted to do something 'baby' with the sweater die - I jotted down about 12 ideas!

Then I started with this set of dies.  I made that first card.  My "scrap" piece ended up being such a beautiful background that no way could it NOT end up as card #2.  I had scrap glimmer paper all over my table from camp the weekend before (and shhhh but I also had the foil - so there are also dies cut with this same design IN FOIL with brusho....just laying there.  But for time....)  After I put the brusho ON THE GLIMMER how could I NOT make this card?  Sometimes our art just takes us.

The video will show you how it's done - watch it tiny here or larger and in HD on my Cheri's Cards YouTube Channel

The leaves were cut with the straight glimmer paper.  The flowers all colored with Brusho.  The Glitter Enamel Dots seriously look like they are made from the exact same materials.  Same colors, Same shimmer - it is amazing.
You need to make this card yourself just so you can see it in REAL life, lol.

If you have resisted the urge to get this die and still can say no - I just do not see how!  Once again, this card does not even use the stamps in the bundle - dies only - not a stamp on the card (sometimes that does make me feel like I am cheating!)

Anyone who places a $65 order or more today on my WEBSITE and uses the Hostess Code KEN7WNVM at check out - will be sent a packet of the Glitter Enamel Dots in mid April once I have returned from my trip!

And don't forget - the Luck of the Irish contest continues through this month -

Bringing Spring In!

As I was cleaning out my phone to make room for more pictures to take on our trip - and getting all the video uploaded that will post while we are gone - I ran across these that I took one really cold day.

It was so close to SPRING on the calendar - but those of us that live in the Midwest know that can mean it can be so cold or so warm - it can change from year to year!  2018 has been a cold one.

But a trip to a couple of craft stores and Home Goods and you can bring the bright colors of spring right indoors.  When the winter sun shines - you can fool yourself to thinking the daffodils must be blooming outside!

Several years ago my brother in law carved wooden dough bowls for all of us - it is one of my favorite things to change out each season.

It was FUN to put the Christmas things in - but always fun to take it out when the time comes!

This year when March collides right in to Easter my St Patricks 'display' gets one poor little shelf!  That's ok, since we will spend the last two weeks in Ireland - the real deal will beat the decorations for sure.

Reverse Watercolor with Brusho - Card Two from Petal Palette Bundle

So - if you saw the last video I posted - did you notice that the 'scrap' piece of paper I was working on was actually a half sheet of Shimmery White cardstock?  Well - it makes a fabulous appearance again today.  In fact I think the scrap from card 1 makes an even prettier card 2!

If you missed the first card - you will need to scroll back one post and go see how to create the background.  As I made the pieces for my bouquet in the previous card and painted the brusho it left a wonderful reverse watercolor.  I split the half sheet in two to make the background for these two cards.

The Petal Palette is available as a bundle with the stamp set and the dies - or during the rest of March you can get the dies FREE (nearly a $40 value) with a $50 purchase as a Sale-A-Bration selection.

I also used the Perfect Pairs embossing folder (or one of the pairs!) which is also a free selection this month as part of Sale-A-Bration.

Using this technique every card will be unique.  As you color die pieces with Brusho - no need to use scrap paper, use pieces that you can keep for future background or even focal pieces.  The Brusho is such a striking medium, you will love the results it gives.

I used it in a more traditional way to color in the bird.  Here is the video - you can watch here or on my YouTube channel (Cheri's Cards) for a better viewing experience:

The colors scream spring and summer, don't they?!  The card would be fitting for so many occasions - Weddings, Showers, Mother's Day, Birthdays - the sayings in the stamp set work well with these too!

Remember - I am out of my office for the rest of the month - BUT my Luck of the Irish contest continues...someone may win a Stamparatrus in early April!
