This is my favorite of the projects that you will make with the Video Project Kit. What bride would not love this elegant and shimmery congratulations! (In fact, if your gift is a gift card....you can choose to mount this on the Gold striped treat bag and present it that way). The camera can't catch all of the sparkle- the whole glittery cake is mounted on shimmery white cardstock.
When you adhere your banner - only put adhesive directly behind the words - this will cover it. Some of the pictures taken here are missing the gold enamel hearts on the banner. Those help to further hide the adhesive. I chose SNAIL as it is fairly clear.
Several of the gals who attend my camps are not huge fans of the metallic thread. It just adds a nice accent on this project up above the flowers. In the video you will see that I did it an easy way. Just add a dimensional and then loop your thread around it, this will allow you to control the look. Then when you put adhesive on the cake make sure to add some in the same spot - to 'sandwich' your thread in place.
The icing on the cake is just placed on each layer. It fits perfectly on the bottom layer and you will just trim the other two after you have adhered it.
It's ok if you don't have the number framelits to cut out the banner - it's an easy enough fussy cut by hand.
