Can you believe we are more than HALF way through July? Which means I am half way through the THIRTY ONE card ideas for using the Designer Series Papers that are part of the Sale this month from Stampin' Up! Several are Buy 3 Get 1 Free - and after all 31 ways to use them....you may just need to do the deal twice and get 8 different packs. Sorry - I feel like your enabler, lol.
The reasons I LOVE today's card? Well, they are many. 1) The mermaid makes me miss my niece working her little ocean job on the East Coast. So each time I color a little fin - I think of Kasey doing her thing under the sea! 2) The Blends. Grown Up coloring. It is just good for the soul, right? And of all the ways to color - using the Stampin' Up! Blends - it's my favorite. 3) I love using the DSP with stamp sets that it isn't meant to go with. So many stampers just use the paper with the suites that it goes with. Step out of your box peeps! It will be ok! Although, this is the Tranquil Texture paper - so it isn't a stretch. 4). Our little mergirl doesn't have any dies of her own - but she works SO well with the Under the Sea die - a match made....under the sea!
I know I say it often - but if you want to see how to blend on a better screen - you will be able to make the screen larger and see better by going over to YouTube for this video to watch the video there - but see how truly easy this card is
I told you it was easy! If you still have coloring questions - my Artistry Inspired Class in August will be just what you are looking for as we touch on some of the basics of Blends, Watercolor Pencils and coloring with Stampin Up inks.
Here is a close up of both her hair decoration - you saw just 2 glue dots secure it nicely - and the Blends coloring. I used all NEW colors of Blends I started with the light colors, blended over with the matching dark shade and then blended again with the light.
Each time you color she will will look slightly different. But every Mermaid should be that way! Those of you coming to camp on Friday - this is one of your projects.
