There are so many ways to use the trim. The mere title - vintage and crochet bring to mind several! I decided to go out of the box with my samples - here we go...
My video tutorial today is a fun take on the trim. I paired it with the new Santa Paws stamp set from the Holiday catalog. This set is perfect for anyone who loves animals in your life. If you like to volunteer with local shelters - this would be a great set to add to your stash to make some cards or things for them to sell for a fundraiser!
The project itself is really easy the only time consuming part would be the coloring. I chose to use the watercolor pencils. Since it is all dogs and cats caroling and forming the tree - the pencils offer plenty of color choices. Don't forget to make use of that white pencil! The gift card holder is made with the Mini Treat Bag thinlet from the Big Shot. Simply cut, (the scoring is done for you!) and seal it up. I attached the fun crochet trim to the tree with the fun new metallic washi. Slip it in and you are done!
The Black balances out the starkness of the red cardstock, but with the crochet trim it lightens up the overall look and adds some dainty feel to it. You could add a gift card to the tag and once it is removed a pet picture can be added and the tag turns in to a bookmark!
The washi is not only pretty - but also a great way to attach the pieces together!
Fun, huh?!
A couple of days ago you might have seen the video of the wedding car. Adding the vintage trim to the vintage car is a natural match.
This next one - not so much. Currently Stampin' Up! is offering a free additional stamp set to hostesses (or just big spenders!) who have workshops over $300. At first glance it is a manly, woodsy, outdoorsy, set - yes?
I paired it with the checkered paper from the Year of Cheer suite - still leans on the Flannel, Plaid, Lumberjack feel - but the trim goes well with it. We spent time in Scotland and Iceland last year - this set with the stag (Oh, so Scottish!) and the sweaters (so Icelandic!) makes me want to hop on a plane to return.
Finally - these were trades I made for my demonstrator team (they are filled with iced sugar cookies - that look like the pumpkins). The Seasonal Chums pumpkin is tied to the pumpkin box with the crochet trim. I have a video for the boxes, just have not had a chance to get it posted!
