Magical Day Treat Box with Lots to Love Framelits

So....FINALLY....a project for 2018!  It has been a long minute.  It is never a good time to be sick - but holidays and kicking off two new catalogs - it was just all a little overwhelming.  If the snow can stay away from Indiana now allowing me to piece together this week's schedule.....I feel like I will be back on track soon!
(Remember for a clearer and larger picture it is always better to view the videos directly ON Youtube)

The project I have for you today is so fun.  I participated in a shoebox swap with about 14 other demonstrators in our group last weekend.  The night before I drug myself up to my office.  I had wondered during my literal weeks away from my office if you could make a bigger box from the Lots to Love Framelits box.  (I posted a video in December with the Cottage using the box as size intended).

The first run through I cut 4 pieces and attempted to make a square box.  I think it would work (eventually) but it needed some kind of bigger bottom added.  I was going for easy.  The pool party cardstock was already cut from a previous event - as were my small white pieces.  That meant if I could get this thing to hold together all I was going to need to cut for my swap was the Designer Series Paper rectangles.  That was my end goal.  You know it's bad - when that's your goal, lol.

I ripped one of the pieces off and was going to start over.  As I did, the end flipped up, so I wondered what 3 panels might do.  Viola' - a sturdy, little treat box!

The end flaps are all just folded in on themselves, nothing is added to the box, it is simply 3 panels.  I did cut off the little tabs.  You can watch the putting together in the video.  Let me apologize for the framing on the video - I wasn't wearing my glasses as I powered through and didn't notice as I would zoom that I was losing the center.....but I think you will get most of it.  It is an easy put together.

By losing the 4th panel I also had to give up the Knight and the Wizard - which had been my plan for the last scene.  If you have not given a good look at this Myths and Magic Suite - go check it out now!  So cute!  The paper, the washi tape - all so glittery!  So much fun to use the Blends on too!

I filled one box with the new shreddie and some kisses.  These would be such fun for birthday parties of kids of all ages!  Girls, Boys, Teens and even adults.  You could premake the treat holder and as a craft let the kids color in their own images to add to their own.  They could then take it home to use as a pencil holder.

If you have a problem with your washi tape curling up on your projects - make sure to catch in the video what I do on ALL my projects that feature Washi that could curl.  Yours will never curl again!

You might notice as you watch the video - I ONLY color with the nibby tip of my Blends.  I don't know why.  I am self taught, lol.  But it is the way that I use them - it will ensure the brush tip never gets smushed I guess!  I do feel like it gives me much better control.
Another thing I love about this bundle is the tiny parts of the framelits.  The Seahorse is completely adorable.  It is so detailed.  The dragon?  If you want, you can add his flame!  There are stars and waves and flowers.  There are pieces of framelits that you will use often even when not using the stamp set.

There is a third design of Wahsi tape that I didn't use - you will LOVE it - it makes an appearance in my next video!

Everyone knows that Unicorns are big - just go search Unicorns on Pinterest and you will be inspired in a ton of ways that you can use that image.  The Designer Series Papers are all glittery too!  If you want you can use lots of the images in it and cut them out - making entire magical scenes!

This will be a project at an upcoming camp - sometime before the Occasions catalog is over in May.  I haven't scheduled out projects yet.....One of those "many things I am behind on"  When we do it at camp we will revisit this and have some additional ideas for the set.  I will have some projects to go if you purchase the bundle from me.  But - not quite ready for that just yet.
IF you are already smitten with the set as I am.....and can't wait to get it - you can go ahead - use this month's hostess code T7AU6ZC9.   All orders over $50 qualify for a FREE Sale-a-bration selection from Stampin' Up!
